Description
The replacement 390 FE V8 has been overbored to 4.08″ and fitted with a 3.784″ 2U crankshaft, bringing final displacement to just under 396ci. New Clevite 77 bearings, forged TRW pistons, and C7AE-B connecting rods with ARP bolts were fitted, and the rotating assembly was balanced. A Melling M57B oil pump with an ARP driveshaft was installed as well as a 260/272 Crane camshaft with .501/.533 lift and a double-roller timing set. The C8AE-H cylinder heads feature replacement exhaust valves with hardened seats, valve guides with PC-style viton stem seals, valve springs, 1.76:1 adjustable rocker arms, and FelPro 1020 gaskets. Induction is handled by a Holley 80457S 600-cfm carburetor on an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold.
The custom two-into-one exhaust system features a Flowmaster muffler. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C6 automatic transmission. A lubrication service and oil change were performed in June 2020.
A factory steering wheel with a chrome horn ring frames a horizontal instrument cluster that includes a 100-mph speedometer and a quartet of auxiliary gauges. Approximately 35k miles are shown the five-digit odometer, total mileage is unknown.
